Ray was wrong!!!!

Okay Ray updated this thing earlier today and didn't realize how wrong he was. Ibalari just rolled from back to stomach. We are so proud of her!!! She's just way too big now.

The Wonderful World of Ibalari Wiseman

Well, we are now a quarter through 2007. Things are changing quickly with Ibalari. She is getting so big. She now weighs 12 lbs. and is 24 inches long. A lot of people we meet says that she is a very happy baby that must get plenty of kisses. I am guilty as charged. Jessie and I took Ibalari to the Louisville Zoo. She was fascinated by the penguins. Ibalari has also reached another milestone... she is able to roll over. She can roll from her stomach to her back; and she is very close to rolling over from her back to her stomach. Her arm just keeps getting in the way. That just about says it all. Unitl next time, Ray.

2007 Update, 2006 Review

Happy New Year! A lot of changes are taking place in our tiny little family. First, the obvious thing is Ibalari is getting bigger. She is now 2 months old. She now weighs a whopping 8 lbs! She smiles when Daddy sings to her. That is what Mommy says at least. Daddy thinks she just has gas.
Jessie now has a car... actually a van. We just purchased a 2001 Ford Windstar. Now Jessie is in the hunt for a part-time job. Anybody want to hire her? My job at First Christian Church in Radcliff is wonderful and exciting. We had a lock-in on New Year's Eve that lasted 12 hours. Down time for the entire lock-in was only 1 1/2 hours. Oh, yeah, we kept them busy. Ever since the lock-in though, Ibalari thinks she gets to stay up all-night, every night. I really miss my dreams. This weekend, we are taking 10 people to see Steven Curtis Chapman in concert. My Pizza Hut job is improving as well. I am up for a raise and a promotion to manager.
The moving van will hit the road again as we are going to be moving back in with my parents while we try to save up money for a house. They have a finished basement with an outside entrance, so that will be nice. The only thing bad about that is the fact that we will be getting rid of Asher, our black Labrador retriever. This will be extremely hard on both Jessie and me.
As you can see, a lot is going on already in 2007. Of course, a lot happened in 2006. It was an extremely tough year (skiing accident, morning sickness, busy schedules, losing my job), but it was probably the most rewarding year of our lives (endurance, patience, faith). 2006 was a year of growing strength in ourselves, in each other, and in God. Of course, the last 2 months with Ibalari has made the whole year great. Well, that about sums things up for the Wiseman's.

The Inevitable is Happening!

My little girl is getting spoiled! I tried to prevent it. I really did! It just happened. Example: last night, I slept on the fouton all night with her in my arms. Why? She likes to be cuddled to sleep. I blame Jessie for her turning rotten so soon. It couldn't possibly be because of Daddy. He only gets to see her a few minutes each day. Compare that to the hours that Mommy gets to spend with her. No wonder our kid is spoiled. Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way.
On a more serious note: Ibalari is gaining weight. She is almost back to her birth weight of 6 lbs. 6 oz. She now weighs 6 lbs. 4 oz. Plus... she is now 1/4 of an inch longer. Somebody needs some bricks put on her head.
Mommy and Daddy are going to have their first date night (ALONE) since Ibalari was born this Saturday. Yep, Nana and Tom Tom (my mom and dad) get to watch her for a few hours. Something tells me that Mommy and Daddy will make this one of the shortest date nights ever!
Until next time,
Ray

Ibalari Health Update and a Big First!

Great news! Ibalari no longer has to go back to the hospital to get blood taken for her jaundice. Dr. Norton has given her a clean bill of health that the jaundice level will not go back up. Ibalari is such a different baby from when she first came home from the hospital. Her eyes are open a whole lot more, and she has a little sheepish smile at times. Thankfully she does sleep good at nights. Mommy and Daddy appreciate that. Ibalari responds to voices really well. She even perks up when Daddy talks to her over the phone. Tonight will be a big first for Ibalari. She gets to go to her first Southern Gospel concert to hear Gold City sing. Maybe she will sing along with them.
